Fort Macon State Park is located in Carteret County on the eastern end of Bogue Banks. The fort overlooks and at one time protected the Beaufort Inlet.

The Crabs Claw:
The Crabs Claw is located on the boardwalk in Atlantic Beach. In March 2004, the restaurant was featured in Southern Living magazine. The magazine tagged the Crabs Claw as one of the best seafood restaurants.
The dinner prices seem a little hefty so I recommend going for lunch.
